As a young woman finds herself lost in daydreams while clumsily performing the tradition of making pierogies, she invokes the presence of her grandmother, who guides her through the messy ritual. The film is a fusion of hand-drawn animation, folk art and stereoscopic drawings made in space, by Calgary illustrator and filmmaker Kiarra Albina. Without words. This animated short was made for Hothouse 6, the NFB's program for emerging filmmakers, whose central theme was "Inside Out".

Pierogi pincé

Une jeune femme se perd dans ses rêveries tout en perpétuant maladroitement la tradition de la fabrication des pierogis. Elle invoque la présence de sa grand-mère, qui la guide durant ce salissant rituel. Le film de la cinéaste et illustratrice de Calgary Kiarra Albina amalgame l'animation dessinée à la main, l'art populaire et le dessin stéréoscopique réalisé dans l'espace. Sans paroles. Ce film a été produit dans le cadre du Hothouse 6, stage de formation offert aux cinéastes de la relève par le Studio d'animation de Montréal. Le thème central de cette sixième édition était « Au dehors et au dedans».
