This animated short was made for Hothouse 6, the NFB's program for emerging filmmakers, whose central theme was "Inside Out".

A sweeping tale of Victorian-era hubris and folly, ending, as all such tales did, in the tragedy of individual human disaster. Director Kevin Langdale employs many tricks of the "epic" filmmaker, and executes them with a signature graphic style that brims with the majesty of human ambition and the indomitable and sometimes destructive power of the natural world. This animated short was made for Hothouse 2, the NFB's program for emerging filmmakers, whose central theme was "Water and Our Relationship to It.".
