Le succès de l'année : le renne vivant. Quel enfant ne rêve pas de recevoir en cadeau un animal aussi charmant? Derrière cette prospérité, Noël Noël cache pourtant un sombre secret. Sa vie semblait si heureuse trente-cinq ans plus tôt, lorsque, alors modeste fabricant de jouets dans un petit village, il bénéficiait de la protection de la fée Béatrice. Noël Noël avait promis à la fée de protéger le champ magique et son précieux sapin. Mais jusqu'où peut-on aller pour l'amour d'une fée? Quelles sont les conséquences d'une promesse brisée? C'est la petite Zoé Fléau qui découvrira par hasard le secret de Noël Noël en tentant de retrouver son renne domestique qui s'est enfui de la maison familiale en ce beau matin du 25 décembre. Avec l'aide de son chien saucisse Snooze, Zoé fera la découverte d'une paire de lunettes magiques, elle rencontrera la légendaire et horrible Créature de Noël et retrouvera son renne.

While pacts with the devil are the stuff of legends from another time, the cautionary tale of The Flying Canoe has a resonance for modern life. Original music and bold animation preserve the spirit of this well-known Quebec legend derived from La Chasse-galerie, first published in 1891 by Honoré Beaugrand.
